A week ago, Emma Anderson sent out a cryptic tweet that immediately went viral: “Seven days.”
And, like clockwork, the Lush reunion was announced today, along with 4ad’s news of an albums-and-rarities box set and vinyl reissue of singles collection Ciao!

Lush’s first gig (one of many, presumably) will take place at the beautiful London Roundhouse on May 6, 2016. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, September 30.
I wouldn’t be shocked if I ended up flying to London to see them. The last time I recall seeing them was at Local 186, a skuzzy Allston club with low ceilings and beer-sticky floors. They transcended the venue.

And it was fun to see them in Boston — I always felt that they straddled the line between their rawer-edged labelmates, like Pixies and Throwing Muses, with the gauzier, iconic “4AD sound.” (Mixing in their own pop sensibility, of course.)
